Account Executive – IT Sales

We are seeking a bilingual Account Executive in our Sales Department for commencement as soon as possible. This position will be located in our Ottawa office and will report to the Sales Manager. This position will best suit an individual who is efficient, customer service and detailed- oriented, and enthusiastic about the work. The candidate will need to be a team player with a ‘pitch in’ attitude.

The Account Executive is responsible for accounts where the customer has been deemed strategic to RJR. They meet regularly with the customer in order to understand their initiatives and business issues. They should be considered a ʻtrusted advisorʼ by the client and should be seeking to continuously penetrate the account with Business Management Solutions that deliver business value.

Typically their external interactions will be at all levels ranging from technical experts within the client to Director and VP level managers. They are responsible for nurturing the client relationship to ensure RJR is their strategic vendor. They will have good knowledge of how the Business Management Solutions offered by RJR compare to the competition.

Job Responsibilities

Account Executive in our Sales Department:

  • Create territory and account plans to analyze and forecast spend patterns of assigned customers in order to evaluate the new license revenue needed to hit quota;
  • Expand network of contacts within assigned accounts seeking to engage with senior leaders and executives;
  • Generate new license revenue within assigned accounts by understanding current business problems, building knowledge of how RJR solutions are positively impacting the clientʼs business and ensuring the customer has a good understanding of RJRʼs value proposition;
  • Increase spend rate/revenue per account
  • Occasional out of town travel with or without notice
  • Adjusts content of sales presentations by studying the customers’ historical sales or needs
  • Focuses sales efforts by studying existing and potential  customers
  • Submits orders by referring to price lists and product literature
  • Keeps management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, three-month rolling sales forecasts (updated and submitted weekly) and monthly and annual territory analyses
  • Producing and submitting written proposals and quotations in pursuit of business opportunities using:
    • Standard rates and pricing parameters as set forth by management; deviation from established rates requires management approval
  • Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules and marketing techniques
  • Recommends changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments
  • Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing reports and making recommendations to management
  • Prepares customer’s personnel, contractors, and other trade factors with product knowledge and selling skills by conducting and/or participating in sales promotion and educational meetings
  • Provides historical records by maintaining records on area and customer sales
  • Has good working knowledge of all company products and services that are available to our customers

Job Requirements, Essential

  • Fluent bilingualism in French and English is required
  • A diploma/certificate in post secondary education or equivalent experience;

  • Issues periodic statistical reports of a general and/or specialized nature
  • Demonstrate the ability to properly forecast in achieving corporate financial goals aligned with corporate objectives
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, which will enable the candidate to build positive relationships and work with all levels of staff and clientele;
