RonAs most of you know, I’ve been around for most of SDE’s product life cycle. Some of you will remember back in 1995 when SDE was called “Support Magic for Windows” with the famous blue bunny icon. Others started with the SQL version that was released in 1997 with a red bunny that would notify you of ticket assignments by flipping its ears.

Times sure have changed. It was a hard pill to swallow when BMC announced the End of Life (EOL) of SDE back in April 2012. For those of you, like me, who live, eat and breathe SDE within the workplace, this announcement came with shock and a little panic.

You may not know this, but RJR uses SDE internally and to its full customized abilities. In doing so, we have been able to better support you and understand your concerns firsthand. SDE’S EOL announcement is no different. To us, a successful migration plan goes beyond the ease of transition from one product to the next. It means stronger user functionalities, maintenance of current processes, lack of interruption of daily duties, and resolving organizational shortcomings—all by extension making your life better.

So, what now?

RJR Innovations, and myself especially, have been working hard to present you with the best migration paths for our valued clients. We have taken the time and effort to not only map out multiple viable migration plans, but have also brought on the proper professional and technical resources to lead us in this process. We are now fully equipped and prepared to present these exciting paths and what the future looks like for us all.

The time is now

Although change may bring uncertainties to your work environment, we have to remember that change is an opportunity to improve. With the rapid advancements in technology this migration was inevitable, and we can only be excited for what added features and ease these new products will bring to our workplace. You can trust that RJR and its experts will guide you along the path to bring your current infrastructure together with the future.
